Celebrate the Fourth of July at the Family Cabin!
by Julie on Fri Jul 07, 2006 10:12 PM
This week we went to the cabin to celebrate the Fourth of July! We didn't really celebrate it too much, but we did have lots of fun...playing hour-long Uno games, taking hikes, eating cake, washing our hands in the tub. We got there for lunch and stayed there until about dinner time. We usually only go to the cabin for Thanksgiving, so it was nice to get together when the weather was so nice.

Visit Camp Nawakwa
by Julie on Fri Jul 21, 2006 3:13 PM
I went to Camp Nawakwa last week! I worked there last year as a counselor, but this year I decided to spend a bunch of time with my awesome grandparents. There was a Lutheran Youth convention in Texas last week, though, so a bunch of the staff was missing. I went to help out for just a week! It was super fun...I had a great time. I think I'm going to go back next summer for the whole summer again. ANYWAYYYY, check it out...it's an awesome camp, and it's one of my favorite places ever.

Take a trip to the Lewisburg Farmer's Market
by Julie on Fri Jul 28, 2006 1:23 PM
Last Wednesday I went with Oma to the Lewisburg Farmer's Market! We stopped on our way back to Watsontown. Oma had wanted me to see it; Aunt Barbara Kaye had taken her a few weeks ago, and she thought it would be a good place for me to take pictures. I bought some Pepper Jelly there to make the Sarah Mellon specialty dish of warm Pepper Jelly & Cream Cheese with Ritz Crackers, but it was the wrong kind of Pepper Jelly, sadly. Apparently there is a big difference between Jalapeño Peppers and Hot Cherry Peppers. I also ran into some problems when I accidentally almost took a picture of an Amish couple at a stand. They weren't too happy with me. Anyway, you can read all about those adventures and more in this fantastic tour of the Wednesday Farmer's Market in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Razz
